On the 5th of April 2017, Wendel Scholma came to visit the HINDI research group at the International Institute of Social History. Wendel Scholma is the Acquisitions Editor of Brill Publishers, where she is responsible for the publications concerning Modern History, Cultural History, Economic and Social History, Legal History and History on Cartography.

In this context, she was present to discuss the upcoming editions of the Quantitive Economic History Series of China, as well as to look at possible future collaborations between Brill Publishers and the HINDI research group.

Meeting of a delegation of the Nong Jiang Suo Institute Museum (Guangzhou, China) and the Museum Oud Amelisweerd (Utrecht, the Netherlands. The delegation of the Nong Jiang Museum consisted of Huang Guangyu (director), mrs Li Kaiying (editor), and Wang Guozheng (head exihibition and research). Museum Oud Amelisweerd was represented by Mrs Yvonne Ploum (director) and Bas van Leeuwen (IISG) and Jieli Li (IISG). Besides a tour of the Museum Oud Amelisweerd, some orienting discussion took place about exchanging exhibitions in the near future including an exhibition of the MOA on Louis Bonaparte, the first king of Holland.

This workshop is a cooperation between the International Institute of Social History and the WAGE network (Wages in a Globalizaing Environment), hosted by the University of Arras. THis owrkshop dealt mostly with wage policy related issues, including the role of labour unions and employer’s organisations.
